Dear Valued Customer,
We appreciate that these last few days have been challenging as you try to plan and prepare for the uncertainty of the coming weeks and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This is a note to provide you with information as to how Malteurop is managing our business relative to employee, vendor and customer safety, as well as, our Business Continuity Plans.
- Malteurop North America has asked all corporate employees, including sales personnel, to work from home starting Monday, March 16, 2020. This will continue indefinitely as employees will only return to normal travel and work when it is safe to do so.
- We are in contact with our supply chain partners, growers, elevators, warehouses, transportation vendors (truck and rail) to better understand their Business Continuity Plans. To date, all of our partners are committed to keeping as near to ‘business as usual’ as possible. They have indicated that since there will be more safety precautions taken when executing their business, the service levels may slow a bit, but should be very manageable. Please let us know if there are any areas that you feel are impacting your business, and we will work to remedy those items immediately.
- Our malt house operations continue to receive barley, produce and ship high quality malt. We have ample inventories. The decision to keep producing malt will be a function of what you, the customer, needs. It will be very much appreciated to keep our Customer Success team up to date on your malt demands, present and future.
- Our malt houses have introduced additional standard operating procedures in order to keep themselves and any transportation partners entering our facilities safe. We have introduced additional cleaning and PPE protocols to ensure our staff is safe.
- Malteurop will be following closely both local and federal government guidelines and precautions as they come out and are updated during this time.
It is important that you know we are taking this situation very seriously. We will update you if anything changes in our operations or supply chain that we anticipate having an impact on our ability to supply you quality malt.
We wish you, your employees and your customers the very best during this period. If there is anything we can do or if there are further questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We ensure to be here and remain supportive to your needs together.
Stay safe and stay healthy,
Kevin Eikerman
President, Malteurop North America
