Great Falls, Montana: 8 years (2922 days) without a lost time accident.
Safety is and always has been a priority at Malteurop Malting Company. We are so proud and excited to share what our Great Falls, Montana plant has achieved.
A fundamental key to our achievement is a result of our safety programs. Each Team member spends a portion of time and resources on safety each and every day. Each shift and every meeting begins with a safety moment, safety topic or toolbox talk. By doing this, we strengthen safety on Employees minds before entering the workplace.
We encourage and train Employees not only on requirements to follow safety rules and regulations, but to be committed to safety and live safety every minute of every day, at work and at home.
At Malteurop Malting Company we live by our CARE principles:
Cooperate with those around us
Always think before we act
Respond promptly to unsafe acts
Eliminate potential hazards
We teach the 8 Life Saving Rules
We have developed a strong Employee Based Safety Culture by coaching our Employees to look for, recognize and identify hazards in the workplace. Take a few minutes before starting a task or job and ask yourself, what am I going to do, how can what I am going to do hurt me and how can I prevent myself from getting hurt? Stop and look around the area you are going to work in. Look in front of you, behind you, above you and below you. Inspect your tools or equipment before use. Eliminate hazards or minimize them to the lowest possible level of risk before starting the job or task. The success of preventing injuries is developing the positive change in behaviors so Employees may identify hazards and not take unnecessary risks, What is most important is that everyone goes home in the same or better condition every day after work.
No Employees deserve to be hurt.
Our Great Falls, Montana location has achieved 8 years (2922 days) without a lost time accident.
Our team includes Rick Slotness, Plant Manager; Shelly Siron, SH&E Manager; Marita Stannis, Director of Safety and Environmental Services; and Andras Bogyay, North American Chief Operations Office.
We’re committed to lead and contribute to safety, but the achievement is primarily of those who are out there on the shop floor operating and maintain the facility day in and day out.
Let’s give our team a big round of applause for all their efforts in keeping Malteurop employees safe each and every day!
“Tomorrow is your reward for working safely today”
