At Malteurop, we constantly strive to support our brewing and distilling partners by delivering the highest quality malts possible. That’s why we opened the MMC Southeastern Distribution Center.
Malteurop (MMC) launched its southeastern distribution center in Atlanta, Georgia, in August of 2023. Our goal, as always, was to increase our support for the creativity and innovation of brewers and distillers by supplying them with the highest-quality domestic malts.
The distribution center is now in full swing. And our brewery partners across the region couldn’t be more generous with their praise.
David Seyler is the head brewer at Stones Throw Brewing in Goose Creek, South Carolina. With a five-barrel brewhouse, David supplies 18 draft lines at the brewery, 16 more at two sister companies, and has beer available at about four dozen locations throughout South Carolina.
He requires solid customer service, expertise, and quality grain, all at a reasonable price. David said he gets all of that and more from Malteurop, and that’s why we’ve always been his “go-to malt provider.”

Stones Throw Brewing launched in February 2023. There is still a lot of growing and learning what’s best for the brewery’s market. So David also needs the flexibility to pivot on short-notice. He told us that the new MMC Southeast Distribution Center fulfills that need.
“The new warehouse has been an amazing upgrade to Malteurop’s service, which really I didn’t think was possible. The short turnaround time has been great for me,” he said. “Being able to pivot and change brew days is crucial to any brewery.
“[The ability] to switch things at the end of the week, knowing I’ll have grain within a couple days of placing my order means I can be much more fluid with my brew days. It has severely decreased my anxiety as a planner, and less stress is such a great feeling.”

Like David Seyler at Stones Throw, David Nelson at Braided River Brewing Company in Mobile, Alabama, has long relied on Malteurop as his malt provider. Braided River uses MMC’s Pilsen for most of its base malts, but utilizes a wide variety of grains, from our Munich and Vienna malts to our Steamed C40.
“Malteurop has excellent quality malts, a great selection of malts, and quick order processing,” David says.
He added that a strong bond with Southeast Craft Sales Manager Galen Smith and the MMC team is another benefit of choosing Malteurop.
“Having someone as knowledgeable as Galen to answer questions and bounce ideas off of has been a real asset to our brewery. He’s been able to help us with not only malt selection questions, but has been a sounding board for good practices and troubleshooting throughout the brewing process.”
Braided River opened its doors in February 2020, immersing itself in a community that thrives on outdoor activities. Like others in his Gulf Coast community, David is an avid outdoor enthusiast. So Braided River instantly made a firm commitment to sustainability and sound environmental practices.
“Trying to find the best efficiencies and doing things in a more mindful manner is all it takes,” David said of Braided River’s commitment. That’s one of the key things that excites him about MMC’s Southeast Distribution Center.
“Reducing the amount of time in transit and the amount of handling for a pallet of grain is a benefit both to us receiving quality, intact malt bags, and also in reducing the overall impact of transporting the malt.”
Having opened their doors just before the world shut down in 2020, Braided River and Malteurop navigated those turbulent times together. And now, the brewery is thriving, adding statewide distribution across Alabama to a bustling taproom.

It’s amazing partners like Stones Throw Brewing and Braided River Brewing that make it easy for Malteurop to make big investments in the brewing community.
