The brewery has gained quite the following in Milwaukee and surrounding areas!

We reached out, virtually of course with Eagle Parks Co-founder Jake Schinker, to get the full story of how Eagle Park began. Eagle Park’s story started off like many other breweries; as Jake describes, “just a hobby with friends.” Eagle Park founded by Schinker and brothers Max and Jackson Borgardt, takes pride in its local roots. Eagle Park is named after the streets the brothers grew up on, where the three began brewing; Eagle Trace and Deer Park.

It wasn’t long before they opened their first brewery, a 1 barrel system in the Lincoln Warehouse in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Two years later, growing out of that location they moved to their Hamilton Street location, brewing on a 12 barrel system. Only three years later, they have set up an additional location in Muskego, Wisconsin brewing on a 20 barrel system and adding a 240 gallon hybrid still for their new distillery! We can’t help but be impressed!

Passion for the craft brewing industry

It’s no mystery that Eagle Park takes great care in everything they do. Beers like Setlist and Loop Station, their flagship beers, are prime examples of their creativity and passion for beer. Jake describes his passion for brewing, “I love balancing innovation and tradition. This really shows in the diverse lineup we offer!”

Their passion goes beyond just beer and now includes distilling as well at their new location. You can also add distribution to their list of accomplishments in just three years! With all of these achievements we had to ask a simple questions. What’s your favorite beer or beer style? Jake goes back to the basics and Milwaukee origin, “If I had to choose by volume it would be lagers!” Sounds like a true Wisconsonite to me!

Challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic

Jake and the team planned on opening their new location this past April but has had to put those plans on hold. Jake describes, “We have always willingly taken on challenges as a company. Changing our entire business model to keep our customers and staff safe while also working to open a new brewery has definitely been a challenge but we are doing the best we can to keep moving forward.”

They are doing a great job! They have had beer releases at both locations and without a doubt they were well received by the community. The new Muskego, Wisconsin location had long lines that began an hour before opening! They are still working on new ways of selling as Jake explains, “ We have been working hard to innovate in unique ways to offer the best experience and right now is no different.”

Moving forward with support

The Eagle Park team has still been able to produce new beer styles during this challenging time. They re-released Goon Juice and Double Raspberry Slush! Jake describes Goon Juice as a “Hazy New England style IPA brewed with Citra Mosaic, Eureka, and Columbus hops. This beer is loaded with aromas-bubble gum, tangerine, papaya, and a touch of pine. A low but present bitterness rounds out the juicy hop aroma and ends with a slightly sweet finish. The Double Raspberry Slush is an over fruited sour ale with heaps of fresh raspberries.”

Currently, Wisconsin has a stay at home order until May 26th. Eagle Park has been super busy filling orders for distribution and stocking their two taprooms for drive pickups. Jake remains positive, “We are finally getting back into a groove so talks of new exciting projects have started up again.”

Jake commends community support for keeping them going, “The overwhelming support we have seen from our community has been truly amazing. We are struggling to keep up with production because people have been buying so much beer!”

Thank you!

We want to extend a big thank you to Jake at Eagle Park Brewing for participating in this initiative during American Craft Beer Week! Our goal is to celebrate your business and tell your story during this difficult time. We know many breweries across the country are going through similar situations. Eagle Park is open for drive through pick up, at both locations, Fridays and Saturdays from 12PM – 7PM.
